7 day combination of 2 small group accommodated tours from
Sydney to Adelaide. Travel to Australia's capital city of
Canberra. We travel through the rural farming region of
the East Gippsland to Foster, a small, but pretty town known
for it's dairy farming and also the 'Gateway to Wilsons
Promontory'. Overnight Foster. Travelling through Geelong
before stopping at Torquay (home of Quicksilver and Rip
Curl) where you can pick yourself up a bargain, before making
our way to the world famous Bell's Beach. Journey on the
renowned Great Ocean Road, one of the most spectacular coastal
roads in Australia, calling into the seaside towns of Lorne
& Apollo Bay exploring pristine beaches, gorges and the
magnificent cool temperate rainforest of the Otway NP. We
spend time at the awesome Otway Fly, (25 metre high elevated
tree top walk) and explore Loch Ard Gorge before enjoying
sunset at the Twelve Apostles. Hiking to the bottom of MacKenzie
Falls & Hollow Mountain for breathtaking views over the
north of the Grampians then onto Adelaide.

Day
1 - Sydney to Jindabyne (via Canberra)
We travel to Australia's capital city of Canberra this morning,
checking out Parliament House, Lake Burley Griffin and stunning
views from Mt Ainsley before continuing on to Jindabyne.
The afternoon is spent at magnificent Lake Jindabyne and
the surrounding area with an opportunity for canoeing, horse
riding (a must, through this beautiful Snowy River country),
water skiing (seasonal) or mountain bike riding (all at
own expense) and a visit to the Jindabyne Cultural Centre.
Dinner and overnight dorm accommodation is included at the
Lake Jindabyne Hotel, where you'll get to enjoy the mountain
life; perhaps a sauna, swim or drink at the bar while taking
in the magnificent view of the lake. (D)
Day
2 - Jindabyne to Snowy River NP
This morning we travel to Charlotte Pass to view the peak
of Mt Kosciuszko (the highest point in Australia) and also
hike along an alpine track to the glacial 'Blue Lake'. During
winter we will 'snow hike' or ski (at own expense - weather
permitting). After lunch we cross the Victorian border and
travel along a scenic mountain road, following the mighty
Snowy River to 'Snowy River High Country' for our overnight
stay. After dinner, search for 'Aussie' wildlife on a guided
nocturnal walk. Overnight in Highland Country (B, D)
Day
3 - Snowy River Country to Wilsons Promontory NP
Enjoy a hearty breakfast and then explore this scenic area
on a guided 2-3 hour interpretive walk. Time permitting;
try your hand at a spot of fishing! We travel the short
distance to Buchan, where huge limestone caves lie beneath
the woodlands before heading to the coast and Ninety Mile
Beach. We travel through the rural farming region of the
East Gippsland to Foster, a small, but pretty town known
for it's dairy farming and also the 'Gateway to Wilsons

Day
4 - Wilsons Promontory NP to Melbourne - Accommodation

Today is spent in the National Park exploring the spectacular
granite rock formations, coastal flora, native wildlife
(including emus and wombats), golden beaches and watching
the ocean of Bass Strait pound on to the Australian mainland's
most southerly point. We then travel on to Melbourne via
the Dandenong Ranges and the pastoral landscape of Victoria.

5 - Melbourne via Great Ocean Rd to Port Campbell
We begin our journey travelling through Geelong before stopping

Day
6 - Port Campbell to Grampians NP
View sunrise over the Twelve Apostles then take the Gibson
Steps down to the beach for a different perspective of this
amazing formation. Continuing along the western end of the
Great Ocean Road we visit London Bridge, The Grotto, Bay
of Martyrs and Bay of Islands before arriving at Warrnambool
for a chance to view whales (seasonal). Travelling on through
country Victoria, we arrive at the magnificent Grampians
NP, calling in at Brambuks Aboriginal Cultural Centre before
accepting the challenge of a hike to the Pinnacle . We finish
the day with a walk to The Balconies & Reeds Lookout before
arriving at our overnight accommodation in the 'Heart of
the Grampians' at Halls Gap. (B,D)
Day
7 - Halls Gap to Adelaide
Today we spend the morning hiking to the bottom of MacKenzie
Falls & Hollow Mountain for breathtaking views over the
north of the Grampians before leaving this magical place.
Travelling west, we break for lunch at Horsham then continue
through the agricultural district of Victoria, into South
Australia and Bordertown, home of the rare White Western
Grey Kangaroos. We cross the mighty Murray River, then pass
through the picturesque Adelaide Hills arriving into the
city of Adelaide. (B)
