o ADVENTURE TOUR'S COMPANY:
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

ARE CLIENTS SUITABLE FOR ADVENTURE TOURS?

Our tours are nature based, suitable for fun-loving people with a reasonable level of fitness who enjoy bush walking, swimming and the great outdoors. They are budget in nature and designed for active, independent travellers between 18-45. We will consider carrying older passengers if they are fit & active, however we do not consider our more demanding tours (Level 3 on our Fitness Guide) to be suitable for older clients or children. Although good health and a positive attitude are essential, clients do not need any prior experience. We reserve the right not to carry persons that may endanger themselves or others whilst on tour. Important: Please advise your clients that adventure travel carries a higher than normal risk and a signed release will be required from all participants before tour departure.Climate

Australia is by nature a warm and friendly place. You can expect high temperatures in the summer but be prepared for lower temperatures at night and during the Australian winter. Bear in mind that conditions can change quickly, especially in Southern Australia, and you should be prepared for rain and snow at times.

How much Luggage can I bring?

The vehicle has limited space so please keep your luggage to a maximum of 15 kgs in a backpack or soft overnight bag with a small day pack for easy access to camera, camera, film, sunblock etc .

How much water do clients need to drink?

Doctors advise that between 2 and 3 litres (10-12 glasses) of water per day is essential when travelling in Northern Australia. All vehicles carry adequate water supplies.

WHAT TO BRING:

What do clients need to bring? A sturdy pair of walking shoes (preferably ankle-high), swimming gear, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, water bottle, insect repellent, torch, camera and lots of film, a sleeping bag (can be hired for a $15 cleaning fee) and a towel (not necessary for ‘Safari in Style’). For touring around the Red Centre, warm clothing in the winter months between June and September.

CLIENTS MUST ALSO PRESENT A VALID AUSTRALIA4TOURS VOUCHER FOR TRAVEL TO THE GUIDE ON THE MORNING OF TOUR DEPARTURE.

What about special dietary requirements?

The meals we provide are largely BBQ and camp-oven cooking. We can cater for vegetarians or those that are gluten intolerant but if clients have very specific dietary requirements (e.g. vegan), they may need to provide their own food. Please advise us of your client’s needs at time of booking.

What Do I Eat?

Our emphasis is on fresh food wherever possible and our meals are nutritious and varied. If you are vegetarian or gluten intolerant we can cater for you, but if you have very specific dietary needs you may need to provide your own food, please discuss this at time of booking. For breakfast we supply cereals, toast, tea and coffee. Lunch is usually a self-serve sandwich and salads; in the evening we have a cooked dinner. We always carry water in the vehicle and you will often have the chance to buy your own drinks, ice-creams etc at stops.

Level Of Fitness:

Are there fitness requirements? Our tours are designed for active, independent travellers between 18-45, as a reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability is required (walks differ in duration and grade depending on the trip chosen). If you or your passenger has any doubts about their suitability for our tours, please check with our Reservations Department before making a booking.

How Fit do I have to be?

Our tours are active so a reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability is needed. If you enjoy hiking through gorges, swimming in waterfalls and directly experiencing the environment then our tours are perfect for you. If you have any doubts about your suitability for our tours, please check with our Reservations Department before making a booking. NOTE: Tours graded '3 boots' on the Fitness Guide are only suitable for very fit and active people who enjoy basic bush camping. They are not suitable for children.

Do I have to Participate?

Part of the enjoyment of our tours is bonding with a group of like-minded adventurers so we make them active and hands on. With the exception of our 'Safari in Style' tour, passengers are expected to help with the preparation of food, washing of dishes and general assistance to the guide as directed.

We reserve the right to amend our itineraries or visit alternative areas in these circumstances and no refunds will be given to clients.

  • Aboriginal Corroboree: The Corroboree that we may advertise on ’ Kakadu safaris is usually performed by members of the Elcho Island community. It is approximately one and a half hours long and involves a traditional dance, the opportunity to throw a boomerang and learn about bush-tucker, their local culture and way of life.
